Position Summary:
This full-time position provides outreach to the Portuguese community, advocacy and administrative support to the Lynn Outreach Office as well as legal advocacy to victims of domestic violence in Peabody District Court. The position reports to the Director of Advocacy Services.
Position Experience:
· Bilingual required/Bicultural preferred
· BA or related experience in human services
· Experience in crisis intervention and active listening skills
· Strong verbal and written skills
· Knowledge of the community
· Office Management skills
· Must be flexible to meet needs of the job
Position Details:
- Provide support, crisis intervention, advocacy and information and referral services to victims of domestic violence.
- Provide community outreach to the Portuguese community.
- Accompany clients to court and provide legal information and advocacy.
- Facilitate Domestic Violence groups
- Complete intakes and assessments with clients.
- Manages office operations-responding to telephone calls, greeting individuals, maintaining office supplies, coordinates donations.
- Participate in volunteer training and supervise volunteers and interns as required
- Attend regular supervision and team meetings, monthly staff meetings. Participate in after hours on call rotation. Be able to flex hours to meet the needs of the position.
